Melting Beauty, L'Appartement's first off-site exhibition, brings together sixteen artists across generations and geographies in a newly built private residence overlooking the archaeological site of Despotiko on Antiparos.

Melting Beauty brings together Greek and international artists whose practices engage with materiality, transformation, and memory – themes that feel especially alive in the landscape of Antiparos.
This exhibition is adapted from Friedrich Schiller’s notion of ‘melting beauty’ in his Letters on the Aesthetic Education of Man (1795). The title alludes to a history of beauty as an ameliorating force. Beauty, for Schiller, emerges out of the play between ‘taut’ and ‘melting’ forms of beauty – the tension between thought and perception, mind and sensuality.
About the exhibition
As Event Manager for the Melting Beauty vernissage, I was responsible for the full event operation, coordinating guest experience, security, catering, bar service, music, transport logistics, and cleaning arrangements to ensure a seamless opening.
Alongside this, I also work as Project Manager for the exhibition and catalogue production, supporting the team with general management.

Organizing Melting Beauty on Antiparos brought a distinct set of logistical challenges.
Coordinating with vendors on an island meant working around limited infrastructure where many vendors lacked their own transport or the equipment needed to deliver at the scale the exhibition required. This caused me to improvise far more than I'd anticipated, from rerouting deliveries to pulling in support from other vendors on the island to cover gaps. It was a hands-on crash course in island logistics, and ultimately shaped how resourceful the whole team had to be to pull the event off successfully.
